#28.Strangers

You and I, my dear
We walk towards each other
As time freezes
Memories come crashing
Down on our souls

The pain exceeds
My very soul
Towards a known time
Of love and agony
Between you and me

Suddenly everything blurs
As you fade
Away from my reality
Only to realize
We were always strangers

Information:

Everything is crazy. Life is beyond crazy. My soul exonerates madness. One of a romantic flavour. I’ve known this forever. ‘Strangers’ is mere reality which has shocked me to my bones.

The protagonist is a walking travesty on a dull land. He questions the bare existence of romance on the blue planet. One day, his life suddenly involves his past love. His memories come crashing down again and it hurts him to the brink of insanity.
She merely walks past him.
Is he a ghost?
Does he know how to disappear completely?
Are all those memories just special to him? Weren’t their souls ever meant to be together?
The protagonist is scared. Scared to believe. Scared to love. Scared to live.

I apologize for the absence from publishing poetry here. I hope you enjoy this, dear reader.

Thank you,
Arjun Rajeev

#11.Obsession of the Love Kind

The summer is going on! Congratulations to Germany for winning the FIFA World Cup 2014. The endless labyrinth of love continues to take over me. Read this poem for a first hand account on one such experience! 🙂

I saw her once
That face etched
To head and heart

Our eyes met
Both deep with reveries
An unknown craving

She never spoke
Our connection strong
One of million words

That unique spark
One never heard of
Serenaded before us

Words were helpless
Actions had no time
My heart gave away

I believe in fate
Love and its magic
Make her only mine

– A melodramatic experience with a lovely, sweet and dark taste.

Information:

This poem was written in contempt because the question of love is worth a million dollars. The true sense seems to haunt me. The questions are endless and each and every action needs due consideration.

The plot seems to be simple but the emotions being carried here is too complex for any of us to understand.

The protagonist meets a beautiful girl. He knows her as a friend. A dear and loving friend who would die for him. This relationship is truly beautiful and difficult to come by in the current generation.

He is in utter doubt. He cannot trust his head nor heart. One is right; one is wrong.

The protagonist tries another perspective where he believes that the answer is only hope. Hope for the right choice to be made.

#6.Compound

I see you aloud
Never inconspicuous to me

You make life full
Being most cardinal

I desire you only
Love’s never loose

Walking past those shadows
Pairs being delightful

None so compassionate
I can never let go

Nothing ever between us
Trust is but a choice

Together we are one
That one compound

Information:

‘Compound’ was one of my first poems. It comes right from the heart. Human beings are in search of constant companionship. Love is a form of companionship. It is a first-person poem about the idea and feeling of love.

The protagonist is anyone on this planet earth. Your average Joe or Jane for that matter who has actually found the better half. Being a compound means being one unit and sharing all the happiness and bitterness with the lover. They would cross mountains and jump over clouds just to reach each other. That is what life and relationships are all about.

#5.Star-gazer

I stood at a distance

Eerily, I gazed

Into oblivion in search

Of unmistakable beauty

Ocean blues and sterling days

Guide us to be the ones

Exemplify our hearts

We were meant to be

I stared into her soul

Vestiges of love built up

Our hearts were intertwined

I could never let go

Our voices echo past worlds

The universe deems our love

To be one beyond wonder

As life simply passes by

Information:

‘Star-gazer’ is a love poem which has been mildly inspired by music. This poem is based on a dream of mine.

The protagonist is a teenager on the verge of adulthood and is lost in the sea of life. He is a hapless romantic in love with his best friend. He is a mysterious soul who is timid towards the idea passion and love.

His only hope is for the marvellous universe to help him compose this relationship. Mother Nature needs to destroy this confusion built up inside him and show him that she is the one.
