I
That day took me to another dimension,
A state of utter paranoia,
Filled with the questionable,
And everything your mind couldn’t comprehend.
I held onto my halo,
The people were all the same yet different,
Scared and ready to kill for themselves,
Has the world really lost the battle?
The force grew stronger,
And I felt my heart beat grow colder,
Your every desire still felt the same,
It was out of this world.
II
The worlds all have a sacred pact,
Happiness shared a common ground,
To be stolen and destroyed,
You get what you deserve.
I panicked as this was the end,
End of the light that I should ever see,
Everything that I believed in was crushed,
I think I felt your soul next to me.
I couldn’t hold back my tears,
Was I going to let you go forever, my dear?
I couldn’t breathe,
I couldn’t even dream.
III
I watched them drag my soul away,
Into their plethora of unknowns,
I lay there helpless,
Drowning in my sea of memories.
I felt a charmed presence next to me,
Everything stopped moving around me,
The world finally comprehended,
And stood still for me.
I will never forget that moment,
I felt your heart beat,
I felt your soul,
I felt happiness.
IV
They played with my memories,
I never let them take you away,
The lights had vanished by now,
I felt my ethereal soul wake up.
Almost as if I were where I belonged,
I was not a passer – by anymore,
My place was right here,
I knew what I wanted.
You made me realize it all, my dear,
The truth out there was oblivious,
But that does not matter anymore,
I’m with you here forever.
Notes
‘A Lover’s Abomination’ is a poem which is very special to me. The tale boasts a fictional background with non-fictional and realistic emotions.
The protagonist is standing in front of life itself. Confused, dazed and mind-numbed. He questions the unquestionable and wishes for nothing but peace and ethereal harmony. Love has kept his heart and mind at the edge of misery and satisfaction.
Right now, he is telling a tale. A tale which will blow your mind. A tale of hope, grace and love. He talks about a day in his benevolent life which turned his world upside down.
The protagonist is transported to another world altogether by an unquestionable magical force. He feels lost and starts to panic. But, deep inside he is calm. This strange world held frightened people who have given up on hope. He soon realizes that this world was never meant to be. It will all end soon for him.
During this journey, he remembers his love and how her soul stood by him, with him and for him. He even remembers how he felt her ‘heart beat’ after he was exiled and destroyed from there. The ending turns bittersweet as the protagonist has his world as just a tiny speck in him but he cares only for the future with the one who he loves the most.
