#30.Everyday

Everyday,
My beloved life is a chore,
I sit and stare for ages to come,
Into this blur of my future.

I stopped,
Just like my heart,
Waiting for you,
Waiting for love.

My minute existence,
Our epic romance,
My infinite boredom,
I’m confused.

Where are you?
You just vanished,
It’s like I sold my soul,
For this insanity.

It still hurts,
Yet I await you,
One day,
Everyday.

Thank You,

Arjun Rajeev

#24.Suddenly

I stopped living
I’m merely existing
For the sake of life
Life with no meaning

I find myself dreaming
Always and everywhere
Of a happy age
Of no sadness

All I want is peace
This need is killing me
Stabbing my heart
Every single second

I don’t fear the great unknown
Not anymore, you see
For I have seen it all here
Life has won over me

I abandoned hope down there
Along with my love
My heart can’t take it anymore
This pain is hard to ignore

My sudden breaths save me
For I believe it will help me
To discover what’s beyond
This living nightmare

Think twice when I’m there
For I’m not here forever more
My love is your love
And we’ll never be alone

Information:

What is a life with no satisfaction?
What is your happiness? There might not be answers to such questions but do what your heart tells in the right moment with no regrets.

‘Suddenly’ was written under the supervision of my introspective thoughts. Thinking of peace in all honesty. It tells you directly the thoughts of an irritated troubadour, the protagonist. All he wants is peace. Nothing more.

I hope it is everything you wanted and more.

Thank you,

Arjun Rajeev

#21.The Angelic Musings

The angels can hear me cry
They taste the bitter fear
Surrounding my every thought

This meticulous pain
Piercing through my lobe and heart
Grows stronger every second

I lost my hearth
To the ridicule of happiness
With untimely hope

I sold my soul
To satisfy that foolish dream
Of a journey to share my heart

Deranged flashbacks dissolve
In the depths of my mind
Forever scarring my thoughts

I want to disappear
To time immemorial
Alone

The angels pushed me away
From the joy and sadness
Into the pure void

Where answers float around
Like the game of thrones
Waiting to be struck

I cannot trust my instinct
Am I betraying myself?
Has the world won?

All that I want
Dear angel
Scream your anthem

I cannot live on this placebo
My body hurts
I cannot take this anymore

Scatter the meaning
Into my soul
Forever and ever more

Information:

The world is a blur to our protagonist.

An empty place with too many thoughts battling each other. Where is all the peace and happiness? Where are all the singing birds? – The protagonists thinks.

His solitude keeps him satisfied yet always craving for the answers and the future. Is he alone? Do the angels control his thoughts?

#17.Tears

The tears fall down
Why have you done this to me?
I gave you my heart on a platter
I gave you my soul as open as it could be
You know my everything, you know me
And what do I get in return?
For a once in a lifetime love
That has vanished in a minute

My words don’t make sense to me
My choice wasn’t the perfect one
Why do I deserve this ordeal?
I thought you were the one
My heart seems to be crying
In its own monotonous tone
For a love that vanishes
Is worse than being alone

My head is strangely calm
Away from all this chaos
My heartache continues to haunt my soul
Slowly fading into the dirt
Am I just like you or worse?
I can’t feel anymore
I just want to drift away and be ignored
Humanity is not with me anymore

My body is about to explode
All the tears have burnt my eyes
I cannot take this anymore
Why did I deserve that lie?
The heart does not forget
Nor can it remember
For as strong as it appears
It can be crushed forever

Information:

‘Tears’ is a heart-break love poem.

It all started with the protagonist falling in love with a beautiful girl. She was exactly like him in every aspect. They were meant to be. Destiny had it planned all along. Now, the protagonist felt a certain feeling called happiness.

There is just a sudden twist of events and the protagonist now faces a disturbing time. He has lost his beloved one to the disbelief of time. He is heartbroken and the pain kept hitting him every second.
He just cannot breathe anymore. The planet has conspired against him. This loss has destroyed his precious heart. He cannot stop thinking about her.

He needs to realize the truth but he is just confused out of this world. He questions everything. Everything.

This poem explores the mind of a heartbroken troubadour.

#12.The Man Who Sold The World

In the park, around the corner

Where the trees in all subtleness

Gave life to my deep desires

Beneath my utter pallor

There lay a lost soul

With love on his platter

The world cared not for him

His beliefs were just reveries

Trust was to be beckoned

His sobriquets lost forever

An unknown amongst men

With a meaningless existence

All his goodness coveted

By the scums of this planet

To whom he shrugs with wonder

Fragments of love afloat

To the mastermind’s society

Longing to be buried with wise

To an ethereal home

Belonging to the graceful one

Nothing like earthly paradise

Information:

‘The Man Who Sold The World’ is a poem which really required subtle thought and intuition. It speaks the truth which hides in each and every one of us. It took me sometime to put it into words, but this is the result in the end.

The first-person start is bringing you closer to the protagonist who is a common person. A person struggling and enjoying life and its by products. He is having a rendezvous with himself on this occasion recalling the world and its entities. He believes that this world is suffering and that the ‘wise’ by which he refers to people with gratitude, love and affection are all gone.

He has absolutely no solution and appears to be lost. He wishes to go far away and exist in peace somewhere he can actually very happily call home.

This topic is something to think about!

Make this world a better place! 🙂

#9.The Pretender

Greetings,

Just wanted to inform you that today is my birthday! 🙂 You may continue reading.

Somebody take the pain away
I need to hide tonight
This impulse hurts
Takes away my soul
I ask for nothing more
I am my lowest enemy
I express what you recognize
Taking risks along the path
I acknowledge not
Not if the body makes tomorrow
Betrayed by birth
I know not of existence
Belief broken and torn
Love shattered worse
I can’t give up
Giving up tears me
Agonizing everyday
Regretting my choice
None too worse
Life goes on
Am I the pretender
or are you?

Information:

This poem was written really long ago by myself. The thought process must have been emotional/ strange back then.

The protagonist talks about life from a drug addicts point of view. He is sad and lonely. He enjoys the pleasure of taking drugs but soon he realises that no one will help him nor moan with him. Life goes by and he sits betrayed and shattered. This leads him thinking if he is the pretender or are others who aren’t as honest as him.

I am most proud of this poem.

#2.Hers

Today we are
A duet so harmonious

Meant to be
I’d never let go

The sun set smooth
I couldn’t imagine better

There we lay
Not a care in the world

This tender way
With much too passion

I held her hand
Tears out of this amour

Her skin so lustrous
Glowing away the night

Forget the reckless things
Ones we’ve done

The night was still young
Velvet roses perfect

Time meant nothing
Nothing to two in love

I relish every moment
The end was soon

Tomorrow comes again
to who I stay in dismay

Something just aberrant
Unusual was no word

A part devastated
Love was exiled

I lay alone cold
Loneliness remained certain

Hearts of hearts
To a broken heart

Information:

This is one poem which contains a lot of emotion from my side in particular. I remember writing this on Valentines’ Day. It is just one of those poems. There is nothing more to say.

Let’s call the protagonist as “B”. So you see, “B” is a person; an intimate person who thinks he has found true love. It is Valentine’s Day today and he’s on top of a hill with “C” – his love. They lay down holding hands with so much passion. “B” is mesmerized by her beauty and relishes each moment. They watch a sunset. The next day comes leaving “B” alone and lonely. “C” has left him; left him with a broken heart.

That is a simple explanation to the poem. I am not going to deny nor accept that the protagonist is me. Think about it.

Arjun Rajeev
