#21. The Angelic Musings

The angels can hear me cry
They taste the bitter fear
Surrounding my every thought

This meticulous pain
Piercing through my lobe and heart
Grows stronger every second

I lost my hearth
To the ridicule of happiness
With untimely hope

I sold my soul
To satisfy that foolish dream
Of a journey to share my heart

Deranged flashbacks dissolve
In the depths of my mind
Forever scarring my thoughts

I want to disappear
To time immemorial
Alone

The angels pushed me away
From the joy and sadness
Into the pure void

Where answers float around
Like the game of thrones
Waiting to be struck

I cannot trust my instinct
Am I betraying myself?
Has the world won?

All that I want
Dear angel
Scream your anthem

I cannot live on this placebo
My body hurts
I cannot take this anymore

Scatter the meaning
Into my soul
Forever and ever more

Notes

The world is a blur to our protagonist.

An empty place with too many thoughts battling each other. Where is all the peace and happiness? Where are all the singing birds? – The protagonists thinks.

His solitude keeps him satisfied yet always craving for the answers and the future. Is he alone? Do the angels control his thoughts?

Thank you,
Arjun

#20. Memoir of a Broken Heart

I heard her thoughts
She was looming about paradise
I took her hand
I held it tight

Under the night-sky so bright
Her face lit up my heart
All that bittersweet despair
That nearly tore us apart

She hugged me tight
She made me promise
Of a life of pondering happiness
Yet loving sanctity and madness

This silly game made me smile
And laugh and cry
She wiped my tears
And kissed me goodnight

Notes

I am a hysterical romantic recovering from ‘restless heart syndrome’. This poem dwells into my plethora of emotions. This is a tribute for you, S.

The protagonist is facing untold worries in his head. He is trying to be peaceful. His entire world revolved around one single entity – his love.

He recalls every single moment, every single word and every single breath with her.
The memories keep hitting him over and over again and he just sits with himself in comfort. So, he decides to let his mind introspect once and for all.

… And the outcome?

Well, it is magical and beyond imagination to any normal person. This poem sums up the protagonists thoughts into one.
His soul feels calmer yet remnants of a love still haunts him. Memories never ever fade away. The protagonist has decided to cherish each and every memory with her.

Maybe that’s what life is all about – To appreciate every small thing around you and live the experiences.

“She said I can’t take this place,
I’m leaving it behind.
Well she said I can’t take this town,
I’m leaving you tonight.”
Letterbomb by Green Day

“Give me a long kiss goodnight,
And everything will be alright…”

Thank you,
Arjun

#19. Death Of A Martian: 2

The tiny Martian told me goodbye
He planned to escape into our reveries at night
To an unknown beyond his wildest dreams
With nothing but timeless peace
He was lost in this so called world
Of beauty diminished without a cause
Blue storms and red days control his atmosphere
To make the cruel disappear
Home was a distant memory
A nostalgic wonderland
Of greed and misery

The tiny Martian told me hello
He waved and began a search into my soul
Filled with remains of a love and so
His powers were weak but his mind was strong
So he told me about the secrets of Mars
A planet of nothing but timeless peace
Nothing was ever incomplete
He wanted to be one unlike the rest
And put himself up for a test
So he decided to make a friend
With someone from another den
The journey to up and beyond
To a planet blue like the pond
Made him realize nothing was lost

Notes

‘Death of a Martian: Part II’ is a poem which summarizes into a prequel and sequel to the first poem: Death of a Martian: Part I. I strongly recommend reading the first poem which projects the protagonist’s interaction with the Martian.

In the first stanza, the protagonist, a satisfied troubadour recalls his final moments with the tiny Martian. The Martian has had an interesting interplanetary voyage so far. He plans to escape and explore into ‘unknowns beyond his wildest dreams’. He reminisces about Mars and its atmosphere.

In the second stanza, the sad protagonist elaborates his first ever interaction with his perpetual friend. The tiny Martian with all his beauty and ever astounding magic trudged through the realms of the protagonist’s quiet heart. The tiny Martian and the protagonist introspect about the galaxy and all its wonders.

The tiny Martian now resides in my mystic heart.I doubted that but now I am sure.
The world suffers everyday yet the tiny Martian fills us all with hope and reminds us of happiness and calmness.
The lack of life is the midst of life is disturbing and makes one think about the actual need-of-the-hour.
This is the true beauty of my sound extra-terrestrial being; he will appear in the time of your need. Your heart will always love you.

Thank you,

Arjun

#17. Tears

The tears fall down
Why have you done this to me?
I gave you my heart on a platter
I gave you my soul as open as it could be
You know my everything, you know me
And what do I get in return?
For a once in a lifetime love
That has vanished in a minute

My words don’t make sense to me
My choice wasn’t the perfect one
Why do I deserve this ordeal?
I thought you were the one
My heart seems to be crying
In its own monotonous tone
For a love that vanishes
Is worse than being alone

My head is strangely calm
Away from all this chaos
My heartache continues to haunt my soul
Slowly fading into the dirt
Am I just like you or worse?
I can’t feel anymore
I just want to drift away and be ignored
Humanity is not with me anymore

My body is about to explode
All the tears have burnt my eyes
I cannot take this anymore
Why did I deserve that lie?
The heart does not forget
Nor can it remember
For as strong as it appears
It can be crushed forever

Notes

‘Tears’ is a heart-break love poem.

It all started with the protagonist falling in love with a beautiful girl. She was exactly like him in every aspect. They were meant to be. Destiny had it planned all along. Now, the protagonist felt a certain feeling called happiness.

There is just a sudden twist of events and the protagonist now faces a disturbing time. He has lost his beloved one to the disbelief of time. He is heartbroken and the pain kept hitting him every second.
He just cannot breathe anymore. The planet has conspired against him. This loss has destroyed his precious heart. He cannot stop thinking about her.

He needs to realize the truth but he is just confused out of this world. He questions everything. Everything.

This poem explores the mind of a heartbroken troubadour.

Thank you,
Arjun

#8. Broken Love

Lust never lies

Those solemn two

Wickedness dare not touch

Beneath these brave

That needful craving

Mankind claims no idea

Society remains vague

Even those strongest forces

None can ever be broken

Minds always clash

Making anger bloom

Which tends to mix love

Lovers are together

Holding one another

Their destiny forever

Notes

Love is a strange feeling. It cannot even be described by many. The real experience is said to be out of this world and I truly believe that. True love is not a myth, genuine affection and feelings among two souls is possible and without a doubt, real.

The poem is mainly from a person’s point of view. He is a lover himself and believes in true love. Society is demeaning to lovers. They think it as a joke.

Truthfully, I have no idea when I started writing this poem. It was a quick one though. The real conclusion is that love is eternal.

Thank you,

Arjun
